Competitive Event in Remembrance of the Revolutionary Martyrs
On 8 February 2009, a competition was organized by the Hind Naujawan Ekta Sabha (HNES) in the Nagar Nigam school of Indira Kalyan Vihar in South Delhi in remembrance of our great revolutionary martyrs. People participated in huge numbers in various competitions like dancing and singing during the Event. A huge cultural and political programme was organized in this context.
Political parties such as the Lok Raj Sangathan and Communist Ghadar Party of India were invited to the Event. Ms. Ranju Minhas, chief of Masjidmod Residence Welfare Association and Ms. Malini Sharif from Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute were also invited.
The venue came alive with the constant movement of school children and the locals throughout the day which was no less when compared to a crowd at any mela. An exhibition was held on the life and moral values of Shahid Bhagat Singh. The messages of Ghadar of 1857 resonated loud and clear from the huge posters at the exhibition. Members and volunteers of the Hind Naujawan Ekta Sabha were present at the entry gate with their literature and documents explaining their goals and principles, encouraging the youth to join the organisation.
Members of the HNES were present in great numbers and and worked extremely hard, making the programme a success. A local youth group also helped in maintaining the decorum at the event.
The cultural and political programmes started in the evening. Large number of youth and locals were present at this time. It started with a speech by the Chief Minister of Hind Naujawan Ekta Sabha who briefed all present about the organisation. He said that the organisation was set up on 16 June 2001. Since then it has been working with the youth in different parts of the country. The situation in India is not stable. Inflation is increasing day by day. The struggles of the people are being suppressed in the name of attacking terrorism but in reality this is a sham and should be considered outright terrorism by the State attacking the rights of the people. Therefore, the youth of the country have to unite to fight against this oppression and brutal attack on the rights of the people.
Bijju Nayak, the head of the Delhi branch of Lok Raj Sangathan and a nominee in the recent elections explained need of Lok Raj Samities to build people’s units at every level of the system so that the common people are more involved in and aware of the political process of the country.
The programme was concluded by the speaker of Communist Ghadar Party of India who said that the youth should unite and follow the footsteps of Shahid Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev in establishing the rule of the workers in India. This is the destiny of the youth.
Various others such as the Chief activist of HNES Avdesh Kumar, Ms. Ranju Minhas and Dr. Malini Sharif addressed the masses and distributed the prize amongst the winners of the competitions. The event was concluded by a bhangra number performed by the Rangbhumi Natya Samuh of HNES, which made everybody dance to their tunes.
The aim of this whole event was to encourage the local members of HNES. Therefore, Avdesh Kumar, Ms. Ranju Minhas and Dr. Malini Sharif had started the preparations for this event a month before. The beauty of the entire event was that it was funded by the locals of the area.
The entire event was organized very beautifully and proved to be a grand success.
