Meetings in London call for peace in South Asia and an end to US interference in the region

The Indian Workers Association (GB) organised two public meetings in London, one at the Dominion Arts Education Centre, Southall and another at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) on the theme of “Peace in South Asia”.

The meetings were addressed by representatives of the IWA (GB), Shri Salwinder Dhillon and Shri Dalwinder Atwal, Shri S Raghavan, President, Lok Raj Sangathan,  Dr  G. Siddiqui—Muslim Parliament & Stop the War Coalition, Prof. Lawrence Saez— SOAS, and Ms Rabia Zia—Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf.

People from all walks of life – students, rights activists, academics, political and worker activists – attended the meetings. After the presentations there were vigorous discussions. The South Asian community in Britain has actively opposed US interference in the south Asian region and the war-mongering by the Indian and Pakistani governments.
